Blog 3 - Factors of production
1) What are the factors of production shown in the videos “How is made chocolate?”
2) What are the factors of production shown in the videos “How is made honey?”
3) What are the factors of production shown in the videos “How is made Pringles?”
1)Land: Dried cocoa grains, sugar, natural vanilla, milk Capital:buildings, machines to remove extraneous material, to shell the grains, to roast and grind the nibs, to extract the cocoa butter, to temper the cocoa liquor, to vibrate the bars and pack them Labor: blue-collar workers 2)Land: field, hive of honey-bees Capital: buildings, smoke spray, honey extractor, machines to “shave” honey from the cells and to bottle it Labor: bees’ keepers 3)Land: water, potato flakes, cornstarch Capital: buildings, machines to roll, to label and to turn paper and to shape, to fry and to pack chips Labor: blue-collar workers
1) elements that can be found by nature are cocoa grains and milk. Sugar and vanilla are obtained by the machinaries that are needed also to doing chocolate. Simple workers are needed. 2) From hives where bees are, is obtained honey that is obtained working with machinaries. 3) By water and potato flakes are used machines that work it making it worked and put it in packs.
1) Chocolate cames from a different mix of factors of production: cocoa grains from the nature;the machines that give the final product and also the workers are essential to complete the work. 2)The honey is produced by bees in their hives; beekeepers are responsible to take the honey from the hives, after that the machines work for the final result. 3) Pringles are made by the mix of water and potato flakes; than machines give them the typical concave shape and in the end they are packed in tubes.
1) Land - cocoa seeds and other ingredients supplied by natural resources, like cocoa butter, sugar and milk. Labour - workers. capital - machines used by the factory workers, from the drying of the seeds to the packaging of the chocolate bars. 2) Land - Honey produced by bees in their hives. labour - beekeepers who harvest the honey. capital - tools and machinery used by the workers to extract honey from the honeycombs, filter it, heat it and bottle it. 3) Land - water, potato flakes, cornstarch, oil. labour - workers and inspectors. capital - machines needed to give their shape to the chips, fry them, portion them and produce their pack.
1. - Hot environment: a perfect climate for cocoa tree; - Capital investment in a chocolate factory (machinery). 2. - Flower fields: the bees depose the nectar ion the honeycombs cells; - Capital investment: beekeepers take the honeycombs to the factory where machines extract honey and wax. 3. - Water and potato flakes are used to produce Pringles; the foil layer inside the tube container is essential to keep the stackable chips fresh; - Machines produce the containers and then they give that distinctive shape to the chips by frying them in a particular way.
The factors of productions shown in the videos “How is made chocolate?” are the cocoa trees in a forest, the labour of the employees, the factories, the machinaries, the tools and the enterpreneur, because he/she takes an idea and attempts to make an economic profit.
1) Many natural elements which form the land (resources) are used in chocolate production: cacao grains (of course), milk, vanilla, sugar and butter; for what concern the capital, it consists of several specialised machines; then the blue-collar workers constitute the labor. 2) Land just used in producing honey: hives and bees, nectar; the capital concerns machinery to extract honey from hives and to process it; beekeepers manage and control the production. 3) Pringles derive from natural potatoes and water, it is also used oil to fry them; then the capital consists on various equipment in order to model potatoes, fry, bottle and enclose it; finally labor is made up blue-collar workers again.
1-the input of show in the video "how is made chocolate" is a big industrial machinary complex, some qualified workers with chemisry abilies; a system of storage and pakaging
1) The factors of production shown in the first video are: natural elements, like cacao grains, milk, vanilla, sugar and butter, machineries, buildings, and stakeholders. 2) Obviously also for the honey production are necessary natural elements, fields, nectar, hives and bees; machines used during the transformation process, buildings and employees. 3) Pringles are produced from a mix of potatoes, water and cornstarch, processed by various machineries. the others factors of the production are the labour of the employees and the buildings required for the production.
Factors of production of Chocolate Land necessary to find natural ingredients, like cacao which through the machines (Capital) is transformed in liquid cacao and dried cacao. These two kind of cacao are mixed and fixed thanks to other machines. The other ingredients are milk, butter and sugar, that can be found in a land. This process is made by workers that let the machines work. The whole process carries out in a big factory. Factors of production of Honey Land where the bees work for producing their honey. They take the nectar from the flower, putting it in the cells. Then workers come to bring these cells in the factory, and use the machine to make this honey ready for the bottles. Who is doing a labour work are the bees. Factors of production of Pringles Land for producing paper appropriate to create the box of the pringles. Then the machines work this paper turning it into a perfect box for the pringles. To create pringles they need water, potato flex that are fixed and transformed through big machines which then cut the chips. At the end workers and inspectors chose the well-done chips. AGNESE SCIARRA
Factors of production of Chocolate: Natural ingredients (Land) are transformed with the machines (Capital) to obtain other kind of product as liquid cocoa and cocoa powder. Then milk, sugar and butter are necessary to reach the final product. All the machines in the factory are controlled frequently by the employees (Labour). Factors of production of Honey: The bees fields (Land) where the bees produce the beeswax that then is taken from the employees (Labour) to put it into machines. The beewax is tranformed by machines (Capital) until it is ready for the jars. Factors of production of Pringles: All the process starts with the production of the tube, then the focus is moved on the transformation of water and potato (Land) into chips through the help of the machines (Capital) than the chips are fried to became crunchy. At the end of the process chips are portioned and put into the tubes. All the process is controlled by the employees (Labour).

After watching the viseos "How Pringles are made" the factors of productions shown in the video are mostly Labour that mix water and potato flex and then some inspectors that after the production of chips double check them and put them in oridanated piles, Capital with all the machines in the factory that we could say make chips almost by themself
“How is made Pringles?” water, potato flakes and cornstarch are used to produce Pringles. Various machines are used to process Pringles. Like frying them, giving them the right shape and let them go into the tube and a Employees pick out the bad one.
